Deburring
Deburring of finest parts after the manufacturing process
Fine deburring by microblasting after laser cutting of stent implants for medical engineering: Blood vessel constrictions are stabilized with catheter procedures and stents. For this purpose, various stent geometries are cut out of fine profile tubes with the laser. These tiny, grid-like metal tubes must be carefully deburred and cleaned because the geometry of the implant must not undergo any changes.
Before:
- The laser leaves small, scale-like residues
- Sharp edges in the stent contours
- Burr formation on the edges
After:
- Finest residues are removed from the surface
- The edges are rounded without changing the fragile stent geometry
- The surface can be easily structured to store medication
